« Being able to reveal all the diversity from the different terroirs in Burgundy, being an owner or not! »
Maison Camille Giroud was created in 1865 and has been long known for delivering wines capable of a very long ageing in our cellars. From generation to generation, the wines bought were aged in a very traditional manner always in search of structure.
In the mid 90s, we started buying grapes and bought some parcels. Since 2002, this approach is definitely adopted. Vinification is modernized while keeping a classical style. Little aeration and little new oak is used so that each blend remains full of character and different.
The style of the vintage and the parcel are more important to us than the signature of the house. Today we produce each vintage in about 30 appellations (80% red, 20% white) for a total annual production of 50,000 bottles.
Each year we release a selection of old vintages dating back to the 1971 when we feel that the wines are well matured and ready to be enjoyed.
