In 1987, Philippe Vatan carried on the tradition of a winegrower family, when he took over Château du Hureau, a wonderful estate located on the southern bench of the Loire River.
It is very important for us to harvest fully matured grapes. Throughout the year we take care of the vines with strict pruning, spring debudding, green harvesting, hand picking and now organic farming. During the winemaking our goal is to preserve the soft, gentle, and silky structure. The red wines are aged mainly in vats. As for the Chenin, the grapes are picked in 2 or 3 times to let them mature fully. All our white wines are fermented and aged in oak.
Our wines are truly homemade and we are honoured that they have received medals on several occasions, throughout the years.
