Presentation
Born into a family with generations of winemakers dating back to 1679, René Lequin married Josette Colin who is also from a family of winemaking heritage in Chassagne-Montrachet. “Together we created the Domain René Lequin-Colin. Our goal is to have a small, family-run estate and since our son François has joined as winemaker the continuation is preserved.
Our goal is to keep yields low and to get the best expression of the grape varieties. With respect to the environment, every year we work on the soils to allow the wines to get the necessary resources and to confirm the personality of each terroir.
All the grapes are harvested by hand. Our philosophy for winemaking is to utilize contemporary methods while retaining respect for tradition. We feel fortunate to be able to give our customers the benefit of our know-how and the experience that our ancestors have passed on to us.”
