In 1656, Louis SCHOEPFER buys some vineyards in Wettolsheim, very close to the town of Colmar.
In the 1960s, Jean-Louis takes the estate over from his father. He develops simultaneously the size of the estate and the quantity sold in bottles. In 1975 he builds a modern cellar with stainless steel tanks.
Both his sons, Christophe and Gilles join him at the estate. Together, they build yet another new state of the art storage and bottling facility. With a full personal involvement at every stage of the production process, they produce their wines in respect to their terroir, vintage and vineyard.
For 13 generations, the family has been producing dry, straight, racy, fruity, balanced and elegant wines. A style that works with traditional cooking as well as some more exotic dishes.
